1) Tigershark Camp
The Tigershark Camp caters to individuals with or without prior swim team experience who are considering joining OCSC for the first time. Upon completion of the Tigershark camp, swimmers deemed ready by the coaching staff have the opportunity to join OCSC, provided there is space available in the appropriate group that aligns with their development level. We usually hold camp twice annually (Early Spring/Late Summer).
Tigershark Camp Date/Time: March 7th, 2024 in the Afternoon/Evening
Registration Opens: February 7th, 2024
Registration Closes: March 1st, 2024
Location: Oregon Community Pool, 249 Brook St, Oregon
What to Bring: Goggles, swimsuit, towel, swim cap (optional)
Fee: $10 per swimmer
Other Tigershark Camp information:
Tigershark Camp is a 20-30 minute evaluation session in small groups of swimmers of similar ages. During the evaluation, coaching staff will observe swimmers’ ability in the water and willingness to follow directions. Swimmers can expect to swim multiple lengths of the pool, in both freestyle and backstroke, with short breaks.
Upon the completion of Tigershark Camp, families can expect an email within 48 hours that includes a placement group for their child, if appropriate. Families can then register their swimmer for the team on the date listed further below.

2) 2023-24 Long Course Season Dates
Season Begins: Monday, April 8th, 2024
Season Ends: Sunday, July 21st, 2024
Championship Season Begins: Monday, July 22nd, 2024***
Championship Season Ends: TBD***
***Championship season is for swimmers with pre-requisite qualifying time standards or members of championship relay teams.
3) 2023-24 Long Course Registration Dates
Priority Registration Opens: March 4th, 2024
Registration for OCSC swimmers that participated in the 2023-24 Short Course Season.
Registration Opens: March 9th, 2024
Registration for former OCSC swimmers that did NOT participate in the 2023-24 Short Course Season.
New Swimmer Registration Opens: March 10th, 2024
Registration for Tigershark Camp Participants who have received a group placement from Coaching Staff.
Registration Closes: March 24th, 2024
A late fee of $50 will be applied to every registration on or after this date.
4) Registration Fees
5) USA Swimming Registration Fee
It is mandatory for both returning and new swimmers to also register with USA Swimming. Returning swimmers that had their registration renewed January 1st, 2024, do not need to renew their USA Registration. The fee for USA Swimming registration is $88 for this year. This registration is essential for participation in OCSC practices and meets, as it provides insurance coverage for each swimmer.
Returning swimmers who are NOT currently registered with USA Swimming will have the option of being automatically charged the $88 fee as part of their OCSC Registration. You may select the box for the $88 USA Swimming fee during registration, and the club will handle the renewal of your USA Swimming Registration.
New swimmers must independently register for USA Swimming on the USA Swimming website, separate from our OCSC registration process. Assistance will be provided starting April 1st, and this registration must be completed before the first practice session."
6) Transfer Fee
If your swimmer is transferring from another USA Swimming club (NOT Seminole, Ridgewood, Nakoma, etc.), please check the appropriate box during OCSC Registration and your swimmer will be charged a $30 Transfer fee that WI Swimming charges our club (or fee will be whatever WI Swimming charges for transfers for 2023-24).
7) Early Withdrawal Policy
A full refund is available up to 72 hours after you register your swimmer to OCSC. Should you register late, no refunds will be available once registered.
8) Late Registration Fee
Families who register late (space permitting) will be subject to a $50 Late Registration Fee. Exceptions may be made for families that are transferring from another club.
9) Volunteer Requirements
We need volunteers to run our events and do expect a parent, relative, teen, or family friend to volunteer for OCSC Hosted Events. Please mark your calendars with the dates below. If you choose not to provide a volunteer on behalf of your family, a fee will be added to your account as follows:
Volunteer requirements if my child swims with OCSC at any part of the Long Course 2023-24 Season:
- Volunteer for 1 volunteer shift for Oregon Kids Triathlon on August 17th, 2024. I understand my account will be charged $300 if I do not fulfill this requirement.
If OCSC hosts a Regional or State meet, accounts would be charged $300 if the number of volunteer shifts needed per family is not fulfilled and if family concession donation is not fulfilled.
